The county held two earlier millage hearings on Sept. 30, at 10 a.m. and 6 p.m. The proposed rate is slightly higher than the rollback rate, the rate that would keep revenue flat as property values grow, which is why Georgia law requires the hearings. More on the rates and due dates is on our property taxes page.

City zoning hearings

Rezonings and special use permits in Atlanta go to the Zoning Review Board, which holds hearings twice a month at 6 p.m. in City Council Chambers, 55 Trinity Ave., and variances go to the Board of Zoning Adjustment. Each case is also heard by its Neighborhood Planning Unit. Our building permits and zoning page explains how to follow a case.
