Election Day polling places

On Election Day you must vote at your assigned polling place, not at an early voting site. Find it on the My Voter Page, which also shows your sample ballot. Polling places can change between elections, so check before Nov. 3.

Photo ID

Georgia requires photo ID to vote in person. The county lists these as acceptable:

  • a Georgia driver’s license, even if expired, or a temporary license;
  • a Georgia state ID card, including a Georgia public college or university student ID (private school IDs are not accepted);
  • a U.S. passport, military ID or tribal ID;
  • a Georgia weapons carry license;
  • a government employee ID from a federal, state, county or city agency; or
  • a free Georgia voter ID card from the county elections office.

Voting absentee by mail

Request an absentee ballot through the state’s absentee ballot request portal by Friday, Oct. 23. Return it by mail so it arrives by Election Day, at a county registrar’s office, or in a drop box at one of the seven early voting sites that have one, including the Buckhead Library and the C.T. Martin Recreation Center, during early voting hours through Oct. 30. The county no longer accepts absentee ballots at early voting sites without a drop box or registrar’s office, and you cannot hand one in at your Election Day polling place.
