Students at Stanton Elementary go on to John Lewis Invictus Academy and then Douglass High, according to the district’s feeder pattern list. APS says its cluster model sends every student at an elementary school to the same middle school and then the same high school.

In December 2025 the Atlanta Board of Education approved Phase 1 of APS Forward 2040, the district’s long-range facilities plan, which closes six schools in fall 2027, according to the district. Stanton Elementary is one of the schools the plan affects: the district’s APS Forward 2040 page names F.L. Stanton Elementary among the impacted schools whose students will move to a “welcoming school” in August 2027. APS posted a draft attendance-zone map for F.L. Stanton Elementary on Oct. 5, 2026 (map), has a second survey open Oct. 5 to 14, and plans to bring a recommendation to the board in November with a vote on Monday, Dec. 7. New zones would take effect in August 2027. The board’s December 2025 action item has the approved plan. The district says the zone work will also shift the F.L. Stanton zone into the Washington feeder pattern for middle and high school.
