All 83 Atlanta Public Schools schools: addresses, grades, 2025 enrollment and CCRPI scores, zone maps, plus private schools in the city.

Last checked Oct. 6, 2026. Sources: Atlanta Public Schools’ About Our Schools and feeder pattern pages, its charter and partner school directories, the APS School Zone Locator, the district’s APS Forward 2040 page, the Governor’s Office of Student Achievement’s 2025 School Grades data, the federal NCES school directory and Private School Survey, the Census Bureau’s geocoder and each school’s website.

Every public school in the city is run by Atlanta Public Schools (APS), the city’s school district, from its central office at 130 Trinity Ave. SW. The district’s main line is 404-802-3500.

Zones are drawn by the district, so check an address with the APS School Zone Locator before you buy or rent. An Atlanta mailing address does not mean a home is in the city, or in APS: of the 81 private schools with an Atlanta mailing address in the federal Private School Survey, the Census Bureau’s geocoder places 38 entries inside city limits, and most of the rest in Sandy Springs, Brookhaven, Chamblee, Dunwoody, Doraville, College Park, South Fulton or unincorporated areas.

APS is organized into nine high school clusters: Carver, Douglass, Jackson, Mays, Midtown, North Atlanta, South Atlanta, Therrell and Washington. In the cluster model, all students at an elementary school go on to the same middle school and then the same high school, according to the district. New students enroll through the district’s online application.

This guide lists the 83 schools in the city that APS runs, hands to partner operators or oversees as charter schools, with a page for each. Together they counted 52,957 students in the state’s 2025 School Grades data. Tables are in alphabetical order; we do not rank schools. Calendar, enrollment and Board of Education details are in our Atlanta schools guide.

Closings and new zones in 2027

In December 2025 the Atlanta Board of Education approved Phase 1 of APS Forward 2040, the district’s long-range facilities plan, which closes six schools in fall 2027. The district’s page names Cleveland Avenue Elementary, Continental Colony Elementary, Dunbar Elementary, Stanton Elementary and Peyton Forest Elementary among the impacted schools, and says the boundary work will also change the Parkside Elementary zone and move the F.L. Stanton zone into the Washington feeder pattern. APS posted draft zone maps on Oct. 5, 2026, has a survey open Oct. 5 to 14 and plans a board vote on Monday, Dec. 7. New zones would take effect in August 2027.

Charter schools

APS says it has 19 charter schools, authorized by the Atlanta Board of Education and the State Board of Education. They enroll through their own applications, not by zone; Centennial Academy is the exception, with an elementary zone in the Midtown cluster. The campuses on the district’s charter school directory:

Other APS programs

APS also lists programs that have no neighborhood zone and that we have not given their own page: Atlanta Virtual Academy, Atlanta College and Career Academy, Phoenix Academy and Hank Aaron New Beginnings Academy. Ask the district or the program how students are placed.

Private schools

These private schools are in the federal Private School Survey for 2023-24 with an Atlanta address that the Census Bureau’s geocoder places inside city limits (Cristo Rey Atlanta’s downtown address included). We list schools that teach kindergarten or above, some with preschool classes too; the survey also lists preschool-only programs and two very small programs we leave out. Each name links to the school’s federal record; the grades are the survey’s. We do not rate private schools.
