Enrollment and teachers

The state counted 450 students at Heritage Academy in its 2025 School Grades data. The most recent federal figure, from the NCES directory for the 2023-24 school year, is 412 students and 41 full-time-equivalent teachers, about 10.0 students per teacher.

State report card

Heritage Academy’s 2025 CCRPI single score was 65.0, according to the state’s School Grades data. The Georgia average for elementary schools was 78.6 and Atlanta Public Schools’ was 80.3. The school’s single score was 70.5 in 2023, 52.9 in 2024 and 65.0 in 2025. The full report card, with subgroups and the parts of the score, is on the state’s Heritage Academy report card.

CCRPI is the Georgia Department of Education’s “comprehensive school improvement, accountability, and communication platform,” according to GaDOE. The single score runs from 0 to 100 and is built from content mastery, progress, closing gaps and readiness, plus graduation rate for high schools. Georgia does not publish an A-to-F letter grade for schools in its 2025 data.

Attendance zone

Zones are drawn by Atlanta Public Schools, so a neighborhood name or mailing address does not settle which school a home is zoned for. Check the address with the APS School Zone Locator; the district’s zone map for Heritage Academy shows the school’s boundary.

Students at Heritage Academy go on to Long Middle and then South Atlanta High, according to the district’s feeder pattern list. APS says its cluster model sends every student at an elementary school to the same middle school and then the same high school.

In December 2025 the Atlanta Board of Education approved Phase 1 of APS Forward 2040, the district’s long-range facilities plan, which closes six schools in fall 2027, according to the district. APS has not yet adopted the new zones: draft maps are on the APS Forward 2040 page and a board vote is planned for Monday, Dec. 7. We found no approved rezoning that changes Heritage Academy’s own zone so far.
